Hardware: The machinery Part or the Physical component of computer is known as HARDWARE.  We can touch and see the components these are

1. Input devices
2. Output device
3. Secondary memory  etc…

Software: The hardware itself is no use .like the bike without petrol will be in driven condition. Similarly to oprate the hardware. We need some Programes. The programs althogether used to oprate the system is known as Software.
There are Two types of software :

1) System software             2)     Application Software

System Software : Those Programe which construct a software to watch and verify as well as fullfil the requirement of hardware resources of computer is called system software.
                                           OR
A language translator is a system software which translates a computer program written by a user into a machine understandable form .

Application software : Application software is written to enable the computer to solve a specific data processing task. It is usefull to fulfill the requirement of  user target.
